Home to Mercers Lakes, the River Wey and Godalming Navigation and River Thames, Surrey is a paddler`s playground for the experienced or novice canoeist, paddleboarder and kayaker.
Featuring around 20 miles of tranquil waterway running through the heart of the county, with natural river loops, locks and modest flowing backwaters, there's a range of channels and challenges for all skill levels.
With numerous places to safely launch your canoe, paddleboard or kayak, along with rental and tuition available at various locations along the river's route, such as the Farncombe Boat House, exploring one of England's first navigable rivers is a great way to see more of the spectacular scenery that Surrey has to offer.
Why not try a weekend family watersports sports experience at the picturesque Mercers Lake near Redhill. At Aqua Sports you can try two or three waterbased sports in an afternoon or morning, with SUP paddleboarding, windsurfing, kayaking and sailing on offer there is something for everyone from novice to expert.
Here you’ll find information of launch points, guidance for safe paddling and downloadable licences for your craft.
